A young man traveled upon scorched earth on the way back to his house. There was no reason to call it a home, since he was alone.

Undeniable was his innocence in the incident and yet still he cried tears if but for nothing more than to reflect on what the Earth looked like before.

Green. Ever flowing were the leaves and the flowers in the breeze on the long hot day when it all just ceased.

Blue. He was swimming in it. The darkest ocean depths that you could ever believe and to drown in them under the Sun would have been the easiest of deaths. Oh, but to have had saltwater be his last drink it would have tasted so sweet.

There he stood, trapped among the falling ashes; simply saved for two reasons. One was that he was often swimming alone. And two, well, he knew how to hold his breath to survive those fantastic depths as the volcano erupted over everything he knew, and now he was not only alive but alone walking home to no home burnt to a crisp by the scalding hot water of those calamitous depths. Still, he had the wits about him to know that he just somehow had to muster up some sort of sick twisted strength to rebuild and survive the next day. It was the worst kind of pain. He would not say he had survived it. He died that day. Just only in a way in which he was forced to remain walking scorched earth for the rest of his days. It was horrible pain.

He prayed. He was not the type to pray.

He was the hunter. He was not a type of prey.

He cared nothing of it. He cared nothing for it. For to him, he was alone, and he had been that way for quite some time. This was the same. Still there was unbearable pain. He remembered every single wave. He let them wash him away.

The day he lost his mind was such a beautiful fucking day.

It all was erased.

He no longer cared about the echoes of the past and so he looked up to the Sun and shouted to the closest diety he had ever known. Sol saw his soul cleanly bathed in the sunrays of the next day as he spoke to the Universe:

“I know you see me here tody.

If no one else is around I will scream it into the void…

I FELT IT ALL.”

Night fall. Then another day. He slept peacefully.

Grass would grow again with time.
