Whatsup my people. Spencer checking in. I haven’t quite reached Mr. Spalding status yet, thats probably like my Super Saiyan 4 evolution. We aren’t to that stage yet, but I’m slowly getting things together. Life was in upheaval for a bit, but has finally settled down. We’ve cleaned house of unnecssary turmoil and I look forward to Spring.

I have some new projects on the horizon, as most of you know I find myself constantly shifting between my creative draws. Simultaneous project threads of merch, a poetry book, world-building out my Sarippus trilogy more and more (which I am about a quarter through with Book 3 at this point btw), submissions constantly going out to contests for short stories and poems, and I am also in the illustration stage now on my children’s board book. Oh, and lest I forget we also have audio on the horizon. SpeakwithPierre and I are working on an upcoming podcast episode, LaiddBackZach has a single off his next album which I am a featured vocalist on, and Thomas Wall and I are intending to put out a new album sometime this year as well.  It’s an exciting time for my scattered ADHD brain. I’ve certainly been keeping active no matter how many torches I may be juggling.

That’s just the creative side. There’s also the business side to my now official personal venture here. I guess this is where Mr. Spalding might come in. First things first, thank you to everyone who purchased The Sunday Stories Flash Fiction Anthology. I truly felt the love and I am so glad to hear that you all have enjoyed it. I’ve gotten word in from all over the globe that it hits emotions that resonate. Oh and to that point, shout out to my people who are checking in from overseas, in Spain, Turkey, Pakistan, Japan, etc.  I never expected to be shipping out my own book publishing work overseas on my first attempt. I was already pleasantly surprised when I had to send them across the border on this side. I cannot possibly showcase with words the amount of gratitude I have for all of your support. I’ve definitely got plans for other follow up anthologies in the works.

Continuing with physical products, merch is a key point the business will pivot into shortly. I’ve got some good concepts for T-shirts and verbiage focused hoodies and such. I am currently sourcing samples at this point. Other soon to come physical products will be some journals and planners designed by your truly, and I am looking forward to doing some limited edition greeting card drops near the holidays.  The backend of the website is now capable of handling the orders for all that and the development overall leveled out now to the point where I feel back at home utilizing my website for just about anything I need to publish to the world. SFwordsmith.com is a great medium for getting my message out.

But why limit the business to physical products when I am the business? I’ve joined Fiverr to offer my writing, editing, and design skills to people needing resume services, copywriting, or creative writing even. Want me to write your mom a poem? I’ve got a gig on Fiverr that would be perfect for that.

What I would love to have more insight on is what you all would  like to see from me as far as postings on here look like in the immediate future. Do you like these blog posts? Are you more into the poems or the short fiction pieces? What about the AI generated art I have been using for the post imagery? Like I said, I have ADHD, help me focus here on what y’all are most interested in. Hit me on any of my socials linked below with a comment, a dm, whatever, and lets talk shop. I am always ready to work.

Anyways, I’ll check back in once I get back from Japan. Until then…

Best regards,

 Spencer Spalding
